Hello!
This week's tutorial is a bit of a throwback to last January when I ran the Holiday Recovery Shawl MKaL, but it's a really great skill to use anytime you want to take your knitting in a new direction without short-rows. If you have any questions, you can always email me directly: shaina@yumiyarns.com
Have fun & happy knitting!
Shaina ^_^
Supplies:
Yarn
Scissors
Needles Appropriate for the Yarn
Project with the stitches live on the needles
Step 1:
Work to the last live stitch on your needle.
Step 2:
Insert the left needle from front to back into the first unworked slipped stitch edge stitch (so it sits on your needle like a stitch ready to be knit)...
Step 3:
Knit into this stitch.
Step 4:
Slip the stitch you’ve just made and the previous slipped stitch back to the left needle, being careful not to twist the stitches.
Step 5:
Work a SSK.
Step 6:
Turn work.
Step 7:
Slip the first stitch & follow pattern instructions for the next row.
Continuation:
Repeat Steps 1-7 until all of the necessary rows are worked or until you've picked up and knit all the stitches needed.
That's it!
Now you can Pick Up and Knit stitches from the side of knitted fabric!
