Hello!
This is our fourth week of a nine-week series on beginning crochet and the basic stitches used in the Zinnia Blossoms Afghan.
Today we'll be learning how to make a US Treble Crochet Stitch. (In UK crochet terminology this same stitch is called a Double Treble Crochet Stitch.) This is one of the most fundamental stitches in crochet and creates a stitch height that, as you might assume, is taller than a double crochet and is the tallest of the basic crochet stitches.
I've posted the video below along with a few notes and all the links you might need. If you have any questions, you can always email me directly: shaina@yumiyarns.com
Have fun & happy knitting!
Shaina ^_^

US Treble Crochet Stitch (TC)
Step 1: You need at least 1 loop on your hook and an active project to work into. Work to the stitch in the pattern where you will be adding a TC.
Step 2: Wrap the working yarn from back to front, over the hook two times. (This is a yarn-over.) You now have 3 loops on your hook.
Step 3: Insert the hook into the next stitch (or space, depending on your pattern). Yarn-over and pull through the stitch/space. You now have 4 loops on your hook.
Step 4: Yarn-over and pull through the first 2 loops on your hook. You now have 3 loops on your hook.
Step 5: Yarn-over and pull through the next 2 loops on your hook. You now have 2 loops on your hook.
Step 6: Yarn-over and pull through the remaining 2 loops on your hook. You're back to just one loop on your hook and you've completed a TC.
That's it!
Next week we'll learn how to make a Crochet Puff stitch. Make sure you're signed up for emails so that you get the tutorial sent straight to your inbox. See you then!
