Tutorial: Treble Crochet Bobble!

Step by Step 1/1 LslT RS (Left-slip-Twist) Knitting Tutorial

Hello!

This is our seventh week of a nine-week series on beginning crochet and the basic stitches used in the Zinnia Blossoms Afghan.

Today we'll be learning how to make a Treble Crochet Bobble. (In UK crochet terminology it's a Double Treble Crochet Bobble) This is a fun variation of a US Treble Crochet (UK Double Treble Crochet). It has a few more loops on your hook before finishing the stitch which makes it wider, but not higher than a normal Treble Crochet and this is what gives it it's fun shape. If you were with me for last week's tutorial, you'll notice that the Bobble is very similar to a Puff Stitch and a Double Crochet Bobble, this one is just a bit taller.

I've posted the video below along with a few notes and all the links you might need. If you have any questions, you can always email me directly: shaina@yumiyarns.com

Have fun & happy knitting!

Shaina ^_^

Notes and Resources:

Treble Crochet Bobble (TR BO)

Step 1: You need at least 1 loop on your hook and an active project to work into. Work to the stitch in the pattern where you will be adding a TR BO.

Step 2: Wrap the working yarn from back to front, over the hook two times. (This is a yarn-over.) You now have 3 loops on your hook.

Step 3: Insert the hook into the next stitch (or space, depending on your pattern). Yarn-over and pull through the stitch/space. You now have 4 loops on your hook.

Step 4: Yarn-over and pull through the first 2 loops on your hook. You now have 3 loops on your hook.

Step 5: Yarn-over and pull through the next 2 loops on your hook. You now have 2 loops on your hook.

Step 6: Wrap the working yarn from back to front, over the hook two times. (This is a yarn-over.) You now have 4 loops on your hook.

Step 7: Insert the hook into the same stitch (or space, depending on your pattern) you used in Step 3. Yarn-over and pull through the stitch/space. You now have 5 loops on your hook.

Step 8: Yarn-over and pull through the first 2 loops on your hook. You now have 4 loops on your hook.

Step 9: Yarn-over and pull through the next 2 loops on your hook. You now have 3 loops on your hook.

Step 10: Wrap the working yarn from back to front, over the hook two times. (This is a yarn-over.) You now have 5 loops on your hook.

Step 11: Insert the hook into the same stitch (or space, depending on your pattern) you used in Step 3 & 7. Yarn-over and pull through the stitch/space. You now have 6 loops on your hook.

Step 12: Yarn-over and pull through the first 2 loops on your hook. You now have 5 loops on your hook.

Step 13: Yarn-over and pull through the next 2 loops on your hook. You now have 4 loops on your hook.

Step 14: Wrap the working yarn from back to front, over the hook two times. (This is a yarn-over.) You now have 6 loops on your hook.

Step 15: Insert the hook into the same stitch (or space, depending on your pattern) you used in Step 3, 7 & 11. Yarn-over and pull through the stitch/space. You now have 7 loops on your hook.

Step 16: Yarn-over and pull through the first 2 loops on your hook. You now have 6 loops on your hook.

Step 17: Yarn-over and pull through the next 2 loops on your hook. You now have 5 loops on your hook.

Step 18: Yarn-over and pull through all 5 loops on your hook. You're back to just one loop on your hook and you've completed a TR BO.

That's it!
