Hello!

Introducing the #ThrowbackThursday Sale! Each week I'll be posting an older knitting pattern of mine at a discount. These will be Thursday-Wednesday sales & are just for newletter subscribers. I've got a few weeks planned already, but I'd love to hear what patterns you would like to see on sale! Send me an email, comment on the Thursday post when you see it go up, or vote in my Thursday Instagram stories.

I hope you're having a great week so far, happy knitting!

About the Pattern

A stole for the 21st Century, Zenon is a cleverly constructed scarf that uses bias knitting to create triangles that build off of each other while alternating between colors and textures. These triangles bend and join to create a sharp geometric design while only requiring the knitter to use 1 color at a time.

Since a modern stole needs to be able to move with the times, there are never more than 36 sts on the needles so an easily transportable 16” circular needle is all that is needed for the entire scarf. The simple stitch patterns are easy to memorize and perfectly showcase the combination of highly variegated and semi-tonal yarns so enjoy knitting this while watching a movie, saving your world or attending a Proto Zoa concert with your friends.

(Bonus points if you’re catching all the references here.) ^_-

Sizing Options/Yarn Suggestions

The pattern uses 2 skeins of T & H Fiber Works Bling Sock in the colorways Mantis Shrimp and London Fog, but it includes percentages so that you can adjust the length based on your yarn of choice.

Because of the percentage system that’s written into the pattern, you can really use any yarn but I strongly recommend using at least 2 skeins of fingering weight (at least around 850 yds) because your stole will be far too short if you use any less. If you want a Super Scarf, just use another 2 skeins of yarn or bump it up to a DK weight yarn with a US 7 or 8 needle. (I don’t have a gauge or finished sizing info for this, but it would be pretty epic and I’d love to see it!)

The Zenon Stole uses a unique construction featuring short-rows so that you never have more than 1 color and 36 stitches on the needles at a time.
