How to Maximize Your Points and Enjoy the Community in the Pigskin Party Make-a-Long šŸˆ

Weā€™re a few days into the Pigskin Party Make-a-Long 2024, and itā€™s already shaping up to be an incredible season! Whether youā€™re here for the competition, the community, or just a fun way to stay motivated, Iā€™m here to help you get the most out of this event.

Here are my top tips for earning points, staying engaged, and fully enjoying the Pigskin Party:

1. Rack Up Points with Big Projects

One of the easiest ways to score points is to focus on projects that use a lot of yardage. Each 100 yards earns you a touchdown (7 points), so those larger projects like sweaters, blankets, or even long scarves will help you score big.

Tip:Ā Plan your projects in advance to balance quick wins with big-yardage pieces!

2. Donā€™t Forget the Field Goals and Safeties

Not working on a huge project? No worries! You can still earn points for every 50-99 yards (safety), and anything over 100 yards counts as a field goal, so every little bit counts!

3. Use Sponsor Products for Bonus Points

Want to really boost your score? Use products from our awesome Pigskin Party sponsors to earn bonus points. Check out the Sponsor ListĀ and grab some yarn or tools from these amazing brands to make your projects even more rewarding.

(Psst... YumiYarns is a Pro Shop Sponsor so you score 40 points for each Yumi Yarns pattern you use & 60 points for each Exclusive Item used. Our exclusive pattern, the Sideline Scarf, will be releasing September 19th!)

4. Stay Connected with Your Team

One of the best parts of the Pigskin Party is the community! Be sure to check in with your teammates on the Ravelry group, ask questions, share your progress, and cheer each other on. This event is all about fun, support, and making new fiber friends!

5. Participate in Challenges

Throughout the season, there will be special challenges and events designed to help you earn even more points and have a blast along the way. Keep an eye on the Start Here ThreadĀ in the Ravelry group for updates on these challenges and how you can participate.

6. Share Your Progress Online

Donā€™t forget to share your projects on social media using the hashtag #DCSPigskinParty24. Not only is this a great way to connect with other participants, but it also helps you stay accountable and motivated as you work through your projects.

With these tips in mind, youā€™re set to make the most of the Pigskin Party Make-a-Long!

Whether youā€™re in it for the points or the friendships, the key is to enjoy the process and have fun along the way.

Happy crafting, and I canā€™t wait to see what you create!
