Ready for some more Regency-inspired knitting?

This is a sock pattern designed to accompany the First Impressions Shawl, a Pride and Prejudice Advent calendar project that started on January 28, 2022, the day Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen was published! Originally designed to complement Merino y Vino's Pride and Prejudice Surprise Box, you're invited to join along even though the boxes have all sold out. Shop your stash or check out Merino y Vino's shop to get your supplies and join the fun! Inspired by the regency fashions popular during the Pride and Prejudice time-period, the First Impressions Socks are designed to use up those little bits of leftover colors after you've made the coordinating Shawl or Scarf. The pattern works well with any dye-style (even those wild variegated ones) and is offered in 12 sizes from Baby S - Adult XXL so you can knit them up for yourself or for someone you love.

These socks have an unusual sideways construction, but plenty of tutorials so don’t assume that they’re difficult. They feature reverse stockinette, fade stripes, and contrast heels, toes, & cuffs but you can feel free to play around with your leftovers and change things as you see fit. Just view the pattern colors as a guide & have fun with your scrap yarns, everything will turn out beautifully! Read on for all the details & happy knitting! 😘 Shaina ^_^ Note: Because the Shawl MKaL is still going on there are no finished pictures of the socks to avoid spoilers for participants opening their advent kit. Photos of socks will be added & the pattern will be updated after the MKaL is finished.
