2021 Indie Sock-a-Long!

What is the Indie Sock-a-Long?

The Indie Sock-a-Long is a year-long knitting event that features a new sock pattern highlighting an indie yarn dyer each month. There will be a total of 12 sock patterns (1 released each month in 2021) included in your registration. Each pattern is sized to fit kids-adults and has both cuff-down and toe-up instructions so you can easily knit your preferred method. Through the end of January, registration for all 12 months/patterns will be only $2 so everyone can join the fun!

Read on for all the details & happy knitting! 😘

January's Featured Dyer:

Dianne is the dyer behind Suburban Stitcher yarns and I am so happy to be able to call her one of my friends as well. She has a beautiful color palette and excels at shades that are very wearable and easy to add into your existing wardrobe. You can find all of her colors and yarn bases at her site: SuburbanStitcher.com

The month of January is jam-packed with socks thanks to Dianne's contribution of 3 skeins of yarn. The Sip of Bobbly Socks are the official January Sock-a-Long 2021 pattern and they feature Suburban Stitcher Sock yarn in the Curry colorway (yellow skein pictured above).

On January 6th a series of beginning cuff-down sock knitter tutorials will kick off featuring Suburban Stitcher Sock in the Clean Slate colorway (blue skein pictured above) with the Basic Cuff-Down Sock pattern launching for free on January 13, 2021.

And on January 20th a series of beginning toe-up sock knitter tutorials will launch featuring the Sea Smoke colorway (white-speckled skein pictured above) with the Basic Toe-Up Sock pattern launching for free on January 27, 2021.

January's Sock Pattern:

Ring in the New Year with these fun & cozy socks!

They feature an effervescent chevron of tiny bobbles around the cuff and an all-over twisted rib patterning to keep things interesting without stealing all your attention. (You’ve still gotta be able to watch the New Year’s celebrations, right?)

The pattern includes variations for both toe-up and cuff-down options and uses a short-row heel along with a standard wedge toe, but feel free to substitute your favorites as needed.

Unlike the usual New Year’s sip of bubbly, the Sip of Bobbly Socks are intended for all ages, so the pattern is written for 6 sizes: Toddler – Adult Large.
