Hello!

I hope that this post finds you all healthy & at home with your loved ones. Today I'd like to let you know about the three events that I had scheduled for 2020 and what I'm hoping to do at each. With the current state of affairs throughout the country, one of the three events has been canceled already (see below) but the other two events are still slated to continue as scheduled barring future developments.

I've created a new Events page with listings for each of these events & will be updating them as things progress throughout the year. Hopefully nothing more needs to be canceled, but I'll post there as soon as I learn of any changes. I'll also let my newsletter subscribers know right away so if you haven't already subscribed you can find the sign-up form at the bottom of any page on YumiYarns.com.

One last thing I wanted to mention before I get to the events is that I truly hope that you are taking this time to enjoy being home with your loved ones. I know that current circumstances are a drastic change for most of you & that we're all a bit confused, frustrated, scared and probably a bit overly tired. Try your very best to be patient and forgiving with those around you. Don't expect perfection from anyone right now (especially yourself) & offer grace freely. If we all just try to make the best of things and see the silver linings this can be a much less stressful time for everyone.

Happy knitting & hibernating,

Shaina ^_^

PS from this seasoned homeschool mom:

If needed a forced quiet time with the lights off and everyone lying down (including yourself) while listening to some soothing music or a short story can do wonders no matter the age. Search YouTube, Audible, or the Calm apps for music & stories then just turn your phone face-down while they play so that the light isn't a distraction.

Yarnover 2020 Marketplace

"These are not decisions we take lightly as there are many parties involved but it is the best and safest one for our Guild. We set our sights on 2021, where we will come together and celebrate our 35th year!" - Amy Hawley, MN Knitting Guild President
