The new kit is live and will be landing in-homes within the next couple of days. This month the kits are featuring 2 of my favorite fiber companies: The Three Irish Girls and StevenBe!
The Three Irish Girls were able to get their Glenhaven Gold Sparkle base for this month’s yarn and they’ve added their new colorway, Margaritaville, to it just for us! This is a luscious base that consists of Merino, Cashmere, Nylon and just a hint of Gold Stellina. The highly varigated colorway consists of super bright versions of a rainbow and the colors really pop in these skeins. You can’t help but be in a good mood while working with this lovely yarn. It’s hands-down one of my favorites out there and I may have quite a bit stashed away in various colorways…
Club Yumi Subscribers will find in their kits a wonderful treat from the Glitter Knitter himself, StevenBe! Steven is sharing his custom bend of Glitter Time tea with Club Yumi members this month. This delightful blend features a sprinkling of edible glitter in a delicious Oolong loose-leaf tea custom-made for Steven. Can you think of a better ending to the Glittering Garter trio of kits?
Last but not least is this month’s pattern: Andromeda’s Wings. It was born from a challenge to myself to see if I could take a pattern-in-the-round that is normally reserved for the tops of berets and convert it to a wearable shawl. The resulting pattern, combined with the highly variegated and super bright Margaritaville from the Three Irish Girls creates this beautiful, swirling cosmic shawl.
Andromeda’s Wings has a unique construction that starts in the center on 4 DPNs and grows outward. The patterning spirals around until you split the stitches in half to work each wing separately with different rates of increase. (Yes, you read that correctly.) The shifts in size are very organic which makes for a really interesting, but also relaxing knit as you create your own wearable cosmos.
Happy knitting!!
Shaina ^_^
PS: If you missed out on joining the club in time to receive the shipments, I still have a few yarn+pattern kits left in the shop. As a reminder, I don’t replenish the kits once they’re sold out so if you want one, get it while it’s still there.
PPS: If you’re a member of Club Yumi, you should have received the digital version of the pattern as well as an e-mail with a tracking # for your order. If you haven’t gotten these, please let me know so that we can fix it right away.
