Brioche Knit (Brk) Tutorial

The next stitch to be worked (in grey) has a yarn over (in blue) wrapped over top of it. Consider both strands of yarn to be a single stitch that you will work into.

Inserting the needle from front to back through both the stitch and it's yarn over, knit both the yarn over and the stitch together.

As you can see, the yarn over that was wrapped over the stitch is now laying on top of the stitch you just worked and you are ready for your next stitch.

Since this tutorial is covering a few stitches at once, the layout will be a bit different from my normal tutorials but it should be very useful to you just the same. If anything is unclear, please send me an e-mail so I can walk you through the steps. Happy knitting!

Inserting the needle from back to front through both the stitch and it's yarn over, purl both the yarn over and the stitch together.

As you can see, the yarn over that was wrapped over the stitch is now laying on top of the stitch you just worked and you are ready for your next stitch.

The next stitch to be worked (in blue) has no yarn over wrapped over top of it. Bring your working yarn from back to front between the needles.

Slip next stitch purlwise, bring the yarn to the back by bringing it over the stitch that was just slipped. The slipped stitch should look like it’s hiding under the yarn over.
