Adventure Anklets

Adventure Anklets

Just like every good children’s story has to have at least a little bit of adventure in it, the Tales of Childhood Collection wouldn’t be complete without a pattern to make your own Adventure Anklets. These socks feature a ribbed cuff, a simple eyelet pattern on the leg & the top of the toe, mosaic patterning around the foot, and a German Short-Row heel. The pattern is written for both toe-up and cuff-down knitting styles so you can feel free to choose your own adventure & cast-on!

Of all the patterns in the Tales of Childhood Collection, these socks are a little bit trickier than the Chapter by Chapter Cap but a little bit easier than the Story Hour Shawl. I’ve linked photo tutorials in the Stitch Guide to help you out with some of the lesser-known stitches should you need them.

I would love to see your project & yarn plans! Use #TalesofChildhoodCollection or @yumiyarns on social media so I can find it or stop by the Ravelry group & join in the discussion.

Pattern is both written and charted.

Pattern featured on Episode 125 of The Crafty Toads.

Notes:

I’m a loose knitter so these are the needle sizes that worked for me. If you are a tighter knitter, you may consider going up 2 needle sizes for the color-work section as it incorporates twisted stitches combined with slipped stitches and tightens the fabric more than you would normally expect.

I used 6 contrast colors in my sample sock and have included color change instructions to use all 6. Feel free to change up how you use your contrast colors however you see fit.

This pattern has been test knit & tech edited.
