Fringe that appears from nowhere & a stunning yet simple colorwork pattern? This must be magic!

Worked from point to wide edge, the Magic Fringe Shawl features a simple Mosaic (slipped-stitch) colorwork pattern, garter-stitch stripes & Magic Fringe. This means that you’ll never be knitting with more than 1 color at a time and that you don’t need to worry about tension as you carry the yarn up the side of the fabric. (No ends to weave in either!)

The goal with this project is to have a very complicated looking finished garment that was actually very simple and enjoyable to knit. Even if you’ve never knit a mosaic stitch in your life, you’ll be able to make this shawl and look great doing it!

Dresow Family Farm has Cormo Kits for you!

Available in both Naturally Dyed and Undyed options, these kits feature the same amazingly squishy yarn used to make the original Magic Fringe Shawl shown in the photos. Click Here to visit their shop and see all the beautiful (and squishy) options!

I would love to see your project & yarn plans! Use #MagicFringeShawl or @yumiyarns on social media so I can find it or stop by the Ravelry group & join in the discussion.

Pattern is both written and charted.

Notes:

What is Magic Fringe?
It’s fringe you make as you knit so that finishing your project is a snap! By planning ahead when you start your project, you can add this great technique to any project that you want to add some fancy fringe to without hours of tying small bits of yarn to the finished project.

Color Suggestions
For this pattern you will need 2 colors total. I recommend choosing solid or tonal shades in high contrast so that the colorwork will pop.

This pattern has been test knit and tech edited.

(Thanks, Sue-Cat & testers!)
