Ziggity Pop! Cowl

Ziggidy Pop knitted cowl pattern

Hello!

This week I'm announcing this month's Club Yumi Kit, the Ziggidy Pop! cowl.

Normally, I'd let you know that there are kits available in the Yumi Yarns Shop, but I've actually sold through all my available kits during the subscription pre-orders. (Which is completely crazy and has blown me away!) I'm so sorry that some of you will have to miss out on these fun kits, but I'm thrilled for those of you who subscribed and will be getting your kits in the mail any day now.

The individual pattern is currently available for pre-order through Ravelry and will be released on February 1st, 2018. If you missed your chance to subscribe to the kits, go on and pre-order your pattern or if you'd like an e-mail reminder when the pattern is released, please subscribe to my e-mail newsletter using the form at the bottom of this page.

Ziggidy Pop! is a fun, scrappy cowl that utilizes random lengths of Fingering-DK weight yarns and a simple textured lace pattern that changes directions with the changing yarns. Perfect for those lovely leftover bits of yarn from socks, shawls and other projects, this pattern will work up differently each time you make it so each project is a new adventure!

If small (almost invisible) knots between skeins don't bother you, make your scraps into a Magic Ball before knitting your cowl for un-interupted comfort knitting. Or keep the skeins separate and knit the ends in as you go. I've included instructions for both methods in the pattern and provided PDF's of the Step-by-Step Photo Tutorials in the Ravelry Download. These tutorials will be appearing on the blog in the next few weeks as well so keep an eye out for them if you'd like some new techniques for your bag of knitting tricks!

The goodies that went out with the club kits this round were gourmet lollipops from PamplemousseSucre on Etsy. Club Yumi subscribers received one each in the Apple Cider Doughnut, Pumpkin Cupcake and Creme Brulee flavors plus one extra in one of the flavors (for a total of 4 lollies).

I can't even tell you guys how much I love these lollies!! So so amazing and Lisa does an awesome job in her creation and presentation of these artisan treats. She has tons of other unique flavors of lollies in her shop along with handmade caramels, marshmallows & nougats. You should take a look at her full line-up, you may get some ideas for holiday gifts. (Or you may just need some treats for you...)

In case you were curious, each kit that went out this month included:

  • 11 - Mini-Skeins of Hand-Cleaned, Hand-Carded, Hand-Spun (& some Hand-Dyed) 100% Llama Yarn from Moondance Spring Farm in Buffalo Gap, SD (approx 200g total in Fingering-DK weights)

  • 1 Printed Copy of the Ziggidy Pop! Knitting Pattern

  • 1 Digital Copy of the Ziggidy Pop! Knitting Pattern

  • 4 Autumn-Inspired Gourmet Lollipops from PamplemousseSucre

Speckle Party Knitting Kit Trio Pre-Order

If you're bummed that you missed your shot to get in on this round of kits, pop over to the Yumi Yarns Shop and snag a spot in the February-April 2018 trio of kits: Speckle Party! Spots are limited and I can't guarantee that there will be any remaining kits at the end of the pre-order so if you're thinking about signing up, I'd do so sooner rather than later.

Happy crafting,

Shaina ^_^

PS: If you love the Ziggidy Pop! pattern, please pre-order your copy today or sign up for my e-mails so that I can notify you when the individual pattern is released on February 1, 2018.
